Avengers (Vol. I) #97
Godhood's End!
Acting
with the inner potential of all human beings, Rick Jones conjures up some
great heroes of the forties to help thwarting the Kree/Skrull War. There
will be a merging between two characters... and the disappearance of one
hero.
Rick Jones' powers displayed here are to be the ones that all humanity will enjoy in the future. We also learn that the Kree and the Skrulls are at an evolutionary dead-end. Strange to note that these guys never fought toe-to-toe in this saga, entitled The Kree-Skrull War! They will go at it in the future, needless to say.
Thor, Iron Man and Captain America were not in the active roster at the beginning
of the story, but soon took center stage over the others very rapidly. The
Big Three, as they are still called, would be more present in the future.
Even if the last couple of chapters were a bit dullish and we expected a more grandiose finale, this remains one of the best Avengers tale of their history. But... where's Goliath?
