Avengers (Vol. I) #68

...And We Battle for the Earth!

Avengers (Vol. I) #68Ultron-6 must be stopped! Even if he's made of adamantium! The Vision's mind provides to key to a solution, with the image of a molecular rearranger. Yellowjacket imagines an elaborate trap for the mad robot, but how could anyone stop an heartless artificial construct? With a quote from the Bible? Huh?

It's still bizarre to see Ultron with no legs, seemingly stuck in a super-duper wheelchair, and his skinny legs later don't help either. We can see here how he became one of the Avengers' top villain. Thor's hammer doesn't even faze him, which is pretty disturbing. This is a crisp, fast issue, with clean and effective art.

Could be Thor's best appearance in the book since his leave of absence in issue #16: action-wise and in his implication. Same thing for Yellowjacket, who doesn't rely on his powers at all, only his brain. The Vision returns to the side of the angels, which is nice. So good battle + good action + in-character heroes = great story.
