To Conquer a Colossus!
So...
the Avengers are all stuck in tubes... but the Black Widow stalks! Not very
bothered by the Avengers' code to not kill, she threatens the alien's leader,
leaving a lot of people confused, notably the Ultroids, not the sharpest knives
in the drawer. Consequently, Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch, enjoying a
recent power boost, can regain in the ranks of the Avengers, Earth's Mightiest
Heroes, as soon as this alien menace is thwarted!
Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch are back, so we have a new and expanded
lineup. The mutants are now back at peak fighting strenght. Plan D is
mentioned. There's a lot of conflict in this issue, but Ixar & Co. are
boring villains.
Captain America mention the Avengers' policy of never taking a life. This vow will come back to haunt the team in a couple of crucial crisis in the future. Incidentally, the Black Widow saves the day by threatening the very existence of the enemy... a fact only known to herself. Could this beat her chance of becoming an Avenger herself?
