Avengers (Vol. I) #26
The Voice of the Wasp!
There's
a new communication device in Avengers HQ and Cap explains its uses to
all. Hawkeye keeps daydreaming. Meanwhile, two former members, Hank Pym and
Janet Van Dyne, decide to warm the authorities of some aquatic menace.
The Wasp is captured by Attuma,
but still manages to send a message to the Avengers, who
soon flee to investigate, without their archer, who will bitterly regret not
paying attention when trying to decode a personal message left for him in their
new equipment.
A spectacular issue! First, the Avengers battle among themselves and Hawkeye and Quicksilver must make peace. Later, there's a great fight against Attuma that last six pages. But the most interesting thing here is the presence of the Wasp and Giant-Man (in his civilian identity of Hank Pym) after their leave of absence (maybe it helped that their run on Tales to Astonish was cancelled, to be replaced by a Hulk run!).
Hank doesn't do much yet, but Jan is more evidently involved, wearing a fetching
bathing suit over her spectacular figure… and her hair doesn't get wet
in the water! She can now change size at will. These two will return to the
mansion very soon. And Hawkeye's blunder here will have some repercussion
over his conduct in the future. Technology was catching up to the team, with
some new gadget used here to record messages.
