Once An Avenger...
With Cap leaving, who will be the new leader? In this time of discord, Kang
strikes and kidnaps the team to a distant century, which he's on the verge
of ruling. And Kang is in love now! In love with the princess of this realm,
the lovely Ravonna. Cap gets beamed up too, and the team is stuck in a real
mess between the depleted forces of the kingdom and Kang's powerful army.
Now, here is proof that the avenging spirit is a undefeatable thing: the three remaining Avengers fight against a seemingly unbeatable foe like Kang. A very inspiring tale after last issue. Even if Captain America rejoins just in time, Hawkeye, Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch prove their worthiness of being Avengers in this story, while Cap becomes a sparring partner for some boxers... Wanda took his leaving very hard, though... as she believed him "every inch an Avenger"... hmmm...
For once a villain, evil as he may be, is shown with interesting and believable
human traits. At first portrayed here as a common supporting character, Ravonna
will have a complex and unexpected future history. But here, Kang will begin
his reign as the Avengers' most implacable enemy, right along with the
Masters of Evil and Ultron.
